10th May 2011: QMC Instruments is delighted to hear that our colleagues at
University
in Sendai have been able to resume their research following the devastating earthquake and tsunami.Despite the proximity to the epicentre, their equipment remained intact. Professor Hiroyuki Nojiri said, "It is my pleasure to inform you that your InSb detector is all right and has survived the March 11 earthquake. It had been located inside the cryostat and thus it felt the enormous vibrations over three minutes. After that, we have been busy to strengthen the safety of the experimental room and finally started the experiment on 25th, April. Fortunately, I found no damage of our system and your QMC detector provides us nice and clean signal as before." We wish him and his colleagues all the best in their research and extend our condolences and sympathies to all those who have been affected by the recent tragic events.
