Performance of Corrugated horns at 600 GHz
The following antenna patterns show the extraordinary fit between mode-matching models and measured performance of corrugated horns. The patterns were kindly measured by Axel Murk in the IAP, Bern. The green line is measured phase, the red line is measured amplitude and the black line the mode matching predictions.
Two dimensional patterns of amplitude and phase show how axially symmetric the patterns are, even at such higher frequencies as 600 GHz.Here are some patterns from a second horn, measured at 604.5 GHz. The horn was designed for optimum performance at 640 GHz, 6% higher frequency than the measurements. This shows the wide banded nature of corrugated horns.
The measured amplitude
and phase patterns were measured on the AB Vector analyser illustrated in the following imagesFor more details contact Richard Wylde.
